FAQ

I’m ready to book; what is the next step? After you’ve decided your general budget and that you’d like to hire us, you will need to fill out a contract and pay a retainer fee to hold your date. We have a great on-line system in which you can fill out and sign all paperwork digitally.

Can we meet in person before the wedding/shoot? Consultations, whether in person or via Skype, are really helpful for beginning our journey. While it is great if we can meet in person, that may not always be possible. If you are planning a wedding/shoot from another state, don’t worry. We can discuss details on the phone, e-mail or via Skype.

How soon in advance should we book our date? Most couples book their wedding coverage approximately 9-12 months in advance. If you want to guarantee that we are available on your wedding date, we recommend locking in your date at your earliest convenience. Portrait availability depends on the time of year. Alaskan summer is pretty packed, so 3-6 months in advance is ideal.

How many digital files do we get from the wedding? Most of our packages include digital files. Your quantity will vary based on many factors. How many hours we are there, how many unique decor items you have, and number of guests can all play a role in the amount. Our goal is to produce a well-rounded representation of your big day in quality images. Most weddings average at least a few hundred images.

Do you charge extra for travel? Travel within a 100-mile radius of the studio is included. If your wedding or portrait session takes place outside of that range, additional fees might be added. However, we frequently travel, so just touch base with us. You may be surprised to find travel fees may be quite minimal or non-existent.

What about destination weddings? Check out our destination wedding page for further details! We frequently travel and would love to adventure with you.

Is retouching included? Yes, we edit our images to make sure you look fabulous! Part of the process to complete our style comes from our artistic editing. Our goal is to accentuate whatever we capture with a touch of art. We do avoid funky filters or heavily edited images because we don’t want you to look like aliens. This creates a sense of timelessness and your images will be adored for a long time!

We have an evening wedding; will the photos be dark? We love all lighting situations and work with flashes to be sure we can capture any situation. See more on this subject here (coming soon).
